Crime Prevention Advice – Catalytic Converter Theft

Dear West Putney residents,

There have been a few reported incidents of Theft from Motor Vehicles, in this instance regarding catalytic converters. These thefts can be done in under a minute, usually targeted towards hybrid cars as their metals are more valuable, however any car can be at risk. 

Some signs a catalytic converter theft is being committed:

You can secure your catalytic converter by speaking to your car dealer for advice in regard to locks that are approved by the vehicle manufacturer and that are tested to Sold Secure Gold, more information about locks and security can also be found on Secured By Design website if you need it.
